Inventory is the name of the item storage system that is unique to each individual player character in Ragnarok Online and Ragnarok Online II. Items picked up out in the field are immediately stored in a character's Inventory to be later transferred to either the more expansive Storage or to a guild's warehouse.

Ragnarok Online

In RO, player Inventory has an unlimited amount of item slots so players can store as many items as they want in their Inventory, provided the total weight of all items does not exceed the character's Weight Limit.

Items can be dropped from the Inventory by dragging the item outside of the Inventory window. If players drag on a stack of items from their Inventory, a pop-up will appear asking how many of those items does the player want to drop.

After the Renewal update, player inventories received an extra Favorites tab for players to separate particular items from the rest of their Inventory. Player inventories also received a check-box for players to check in order to prevent items from being dropped accidentally.

Weight Penalties

Exclusive to RO, every item has a weight value for balancing purposes so players do not carry too many useful items. Players can expand their characters' Weight Limit by investing points in their characters' Strength stat.

The game highly discourages players from carrying too much by having weight penalties. If a character's weight exceeds 50% of its Weight Limit, it will be unable to regenerate HP and SP naturally, even when sitting down. If the character's weight exceeds 90% of its Weight Limit, it will no longer be able to attack and use skills on top of not being able to naturally regenerate HP and SP.

In addition to the weight values, a character can also be considered "overweight" by the game if it carries more than 100 unique items.

Ragnarok Online II

In RO2, player Inventory has no Weight Limit, but are instead limited by the amount of item slots available in their bags. Every character comes with a 20-slot default Inventory bag and can gain more item slots by equipping up to 3 extra bags in their bag slots.

To increase Inventory space, players have the option to acquire bigger bags to put into their bag slots. Bags can be replaced by overlaying the new bag over an old bag; all items in the old bag will be automatically transferred to the new bag.

A certain amount of Inventory bags are available in-game while bigger bags can only be acquired from the Kafra Shop:
