Shay is an Assassin Cross working as the chef and tavern keeper of the Burman Flone in El Dicastes. He is sensitive about his cooking and gets frustrated when he fails a recipe.
Story[]

Shay originally came to Jotunheim along with other Assassins for the Midgard Allied Forces Expedition. He helped establish the camp and was one of the first normans to enter the Dimensional Gap after Surt tore it open in the Sograt Desert.
After he was done building the camp in the Ash Vacuum, he thought he would return to his hometown and retire but was contacted by the Saphas of El Dicastes. They asked him to open a place for outsiders to feel comfortable while in the city. They were considerate enough to design it in the style of Midgard. He agreed and helped construct the place. The next thing he knew, he was running the whole project and has been working at the pub ever since. He's been working at the pub for so long, he doesn't remember what his original job for the United Midgard Alliance was.
One day, Shay was visited by a norman adventurer who began asking about him. After relaying his past to the adventurer, he decides he doesn't want to talk about himself anymore as it made him depressed to think about. The adventurer changes topic and inquires Shay if he has seen a man with cat ears and tail. Shay responds that he hasn't and suggests that the adventurer ask the Sapha citizens around the city if they've seen such an individual. The adventurer then leaves.
The adventurer returns some time later and laments that he/she didn't get much information and is annoyed at how so many Saphas are head-over-heels interested in a minister name Ahat. Shay notes that he's never seen the minister, but hears that the man is beautiful. He then changes the subject and asks the adventurer to try out a pie that he made using only carrots and something that looked like apples and bananas. (He called it an "apple pie.") The adventurer questions the dish, which immediately upsets Shay and causes him to fling the "pie" directly into the adventurer's face. He tries to compose himself and apologizes for the outburst, which slightly injured the adventurer's face with its impact. He then reveals that he was asked to help the adventurer by the Midgard Allied Forces guard Aello, and tells the adventurer to seek out a Cat Hand merchant by the name of BK.
Shay encounters the adventurer at the pub again, who tells him that the minister known as Ahat may not be what everyone thinks he is. Shay adds that from what he can tell from the rumors he hears, he asserts that the reason for the minster's popularity with the citizens of El Dicastes could be because he is a different race entirely. He goes on to say that the dimensional crack that BK refers to may be worth investigating to solve the mystery behind Ahat.
The adventurer reappears and shows Shay a Frozen Piece of Skin that he/she found near the dimensional crack. He is surprised by the item and starts to suspect that there's something odd about Ahat, even moreso since he never saw the minister. He suggests that the adventurer get 3 Sapha Certifications, which are required to meet Ahat himself and get to the bottom of the mystery. When the adventurer questions why he doesn't have certifications himself, Shay admits that he's among the many who submit requests to the Dicastes Diel as he doesn't have the freedom to run errands due to him being the only employee of the Burman Flone.[1]
