In their effort to trace the trails left behind by Surt, brave adventurers have crossed Bifrost into a mysterious city, Eclage. Laphines in Eclage were completely isolated from Splendide because of the Forest of Mist. Despite the extreme dangers, the adventurers have made their way to Eclage, pleasantly surprising the Laphines.[1][2] Due to the will of the Bifrost Tree, all residents and visitors within the city's limits are able to communicate freely despite differing languages.

Geography[]

Eclage city, created around the giant tree, is the Laphine tribe's main base, created to confront the Sapha tribe in Jotunheim. Eclage is situated in Alfheim, connected to Bifrost's north field.

Bifrost Treetop, which is linked to Bifrost, can also be found in front of Eclage, linking Alfheim to Jotunheim.[3] The tree is the heart of Eclage, where the palace, shops, prison, and clinic are located. Roads were built throughout the city so flightless races could travel through it easier.

History[]

SPOILER
RO BifrostTree

The Bifrost Tree's trunk.

In ages past, there once existed an Elder Assembly in addition to leaders (including the Mayor Jun). When Laphines first settled in the Bifrost, they suffered polluted gardens, dried lands, and attacks from Bifrost denizens. Blaming the Laphine leaders for their failures, the Elder Assembly pushed for the Laphines' relocation to the flourishing forests of southern Alfheim. Unfortunately, scouts sent to survey the forests confirmed that the area was dangerous, for most of the scouts sent never came back.

It was then that two young Donas Laphines, Etran and Robert, stepped up to solve the issue as the both of them held great influence among the Laphines. They believed that the establishment of a home tree would not only serve as a better settlement for the Laphines, but also revive the Bifrost. However, the Elder Assembly argued that the Bifrost would not have the necessary life force needed to support a home tree; it was too barren of life. As such, Etran and Robert pretended to be in opposition in order for the idea to be passed: Etran argued for the revival of the Bifrost while Robert was the head of the group that promoted both the revival of the Bifrost as well as the cultivation of the new home tree. By creating two opposing arguments, the Elder Assembly would be convinced to support their original idea. They succeeded.

In the end, Robert managed to nurture the home tree into the city of Eclage while Etran was able to restore the Bifrost to be even better than it was before the home tree. However, despite their successes, neither were credited for the establishment of Eclage because of a policy of not recording oppositions in Donas nobility in the official history. As such, Eclage's official history credit the Elder Assembly for Eclage's founding.[4]

The Laphine Elder Assembly has since been made obsolete and faded into obscurity in favor of the establishment of the Mayor Jun as the main deciding figure in Laphine society.
